The track looks huge.. Which is a good thing and a bad thing for NA. I wonder how linkable some parts will be for me. Either way, its going to cost me like $1000 easily to go.

My planned budget for this is $2,000.  That includes twelve 18" federals, gas for the truck @ 9mpg, food, hotel, entry fee, etc.  This is with $250 or so extra, and assuming I eat expensively.  It only gets better if I do things like share hotel room, split a two car trailer, things like that.  So if it's easy for you to figure out then just subtract the things you won't be doing from my budget, divide by 3, and you'll know what you need to save per month starting now.

Also, I don't mind helping locals out with my tire account if it gets you to the event. I get a pretty sweet deal on Federals, too.

Hey Aron, do you know if there will be a tire machine just in case?

We need to do something like this that will save us moneys. I still may go, i just cant pass up the oppurtunity.

No there will not be a tire changer.  But I have one up here : )

Yeah, it's still at my best friend's house LOL.  I think I now have more hours on that machine than anyone in Fort Worth.  Valve still sticks, by the way.  LOL.

The surface is very smooth at this track, it is almost brand new.  I don't think you will need 12 tires if you aren't super rough on them.  Run nexens and you will only need 4 all day : )

That math was just done off the top of my head since I plan to have three sets of wheels by then.  Doubt I'll use them all on a real track and in run groups.

Don't scare people with how much it will cost you to do the event : )

Not trying to scare people with my budget.  I was just showing that I overbudget for stuff like this so that I don't get stranded and have to walk home from Houston.  I'd say that someone (COUGHspencerCOUGH) that drove a naturally aspirated KA car with all the used tires it could hold and a friend in the passenger seat could do this for easily less than half what i'm budgeting.

Man... this might be enough to convince me to get the miata running again and bring it.

Question though - If I can't get the miata going will the RX7 of doom be permitted at this track or will it be just too damn loud?

Volume shouldn't be a problem.  Just don't let it leak anywhere!

Fortunately leaks are not an issue, just ungodly noise.
