Not on topic because I don't feel like reading 5 pages, BUT...

Can anyone tell me if you can go wrong with JIC?  I know they are popular with drifters but has anyone used them for road racing and have anything constructive to say?

Stay away from JIC. The quality isn't there. The shocks leak as fast as the cheap stuff and their support sucks. There are better options for the money.

Until I start hearing better things about them I wouldn't recommend them.

Tein can't hang.

Nevermind that Tein has better double adjustable coilovers that actually don't leak and have been proven at SCCA nationals year after year. You do know Stance had major issues with the first version of the GR +3, right?

granted Stance redesigned them, but I'd wait to get some miles on them to see if they are good.

Keep in mind I have Tein on my FD and Stance on my S14, so I'm not bashing, I'm just being objective.

Since the redesign I've seen a lot of people using the GR+3 with good results and no complaints

I talked to Tein and my issue was they didn't want to do custom valved stuff and the Flex Mono was way too street oriented. As a direct comparison to the GR+3, when I worked at SPL Kuah had the Circuit Racings and always complained that they were under dampened. So basically for 1000$ more than the GR+3s you're getting a product likely to be under valved like every other Japanese Coilover, whereas with stance you can call and tell them exactly what you want and 2 months later it shows up at your door. Right now I'm working with Stance to get custom valving to sell for the drag Supras/Porsches/GTRs, which is similar to how they re-valve for drifting.

Either way, Stance is pretty proven to work and so is Tein, I just think Stance is money better spent.
